The Doctors at Mayfair Animal Hospital have many years of experience performing a variety of surgical procedures from routine spays and neuters to more complicated soft tissue and orthopedic procedures. We pride ourselves in providing the highest quality pre-surgical and surgical care as well as close attention to recovery and pain management. The doctors and our veterinary team routinely attend continuing education meetings to stay abreast in the latest advances in veterinary medicine to provide the highest standard of surgical care. We have a highly trained surgical team to provide your pet with the safest and most up to date anesthetic protocols individualized for each and every patient. Our surgical suite is equipped with the latest patient monitoring equipment to ensure the health and safety of your pet.
We offer a wide range of surgical procedures for our patients, some examples include:
On the day of surgery, all patients undergo a thorough and complete pre-surgical examination and this is combined with pre-surgical bloodwork to aid our veterinary team in designing an individual anesthetic protocol specifically for your pet. An intravenous (IV) catheter will be placed to provide access directly to your pet for IV fluids and surgical medications.
During your pet’s surgical procedure, there will be a dedicated veterinary team member to closely monitor and record your pet’s vital signs and will be in constant communication with your veterinary surgeon during the procedure.
Pain management is one of our top priorities during any surgical procedure.
An individualized plan will be formulated prior to the surgery to assure your pet will be comfortable during and after the procedure. Your pet’s post operative pain plan will be clearly defined and will include pain medication to reduce discomfort and encourage a speedy recovery.
Our knowledgeable team will walk you through every step of the surgical process from start to finish and provide you with written post-op surgical instructions with everything you need to know for post-op surgical care at home.
