Susan Bristol was born and raised in Stamford, Connecticut, the second oldest of five children. She began her career by receiving both her Bachelor of Science with distinction and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University. Dr Bristol's work as a veterinarian began right here in Raleigh in 1984. She came to Mayfair Animal Hospital in 1986 as a staff veterinarian, becoming a practice owner in 1991. Dr. Bristol is a member of several associations, including the American Veterinary Medical Association; North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association; Wake County Veterinary Medical Association, where she served as president in 1996; and the American Animal Hospital Association. She has served on the Board of Directors for the N.C. Veterinary Medical Association, Cary-Page Rotary Club and the N.C. Small Business Technology and Development Center.
Originally from Boston, Dr. Santilli earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from NC State University in 1988. He came to Mayfair Animal Hospital in 1992, becoming a practice owner in 1995. Dr. Santilli is a Past President of the Wake County Veterinary Medical Association and is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Animal Hospital Association. His special interests include small animal orthopedics, surgery and rehabilitation. He lives locally with his wife, two children, and two cats, Blue and Addy. His hobbies involve playing hockey, spending time at the coast of North Carolina, photography, watersports, and building/remodeling his home.
Dr. Foster grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. She has a BS in biology from Truman State University and earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from NC State University in 2007. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association, the Association of Avian Veterinarians, and the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians. Dr. Foster has a special interest in exotic animal medicine and has had extensive professional and personal training in this area including several externships at exotic clinics. She has also owned many of these unique animals herself including guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, turtles, frogs, snakes, lizards, hermit crabs, cockatiels, and fish.
Dr. Foster lives in Cary with her husband Bill and their beautiful daughter Sophie. She has two dogs, a Golden Retriever named Sierra, and a Chihuahua named Roscoe. She also has four turtles, a tortoise, and two cockatiels named Bogie and Merlin. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, kayaking, cooking, and reading.
Dr. Rusnak earned her Bachelor of Science in Zoology and Wildlife Conservation from NC State University in 1982, going on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from NCSU in 1988. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Animal Hospital Association
Dr. Rusnak is a lifelong resident of Wake County where she lives with her husband, two children and two terrier mixes, Angel and Rover. She is a rare soul that longs for the North Carolina hot summers, especially on the beach! Dr. Rusnak's straightforward approach, focusing on internal medicine, provides the foundation for each patient to receive an individualized treatment plan.
A native of Shelby, NC, Dr. Smith attended NC State as an undergraduate and received her DVM from Auburn University. Her special interests in veterinary medicine are dentistry and caring for geriatric patients. She finds it very rewarding to work with the older patients to find ways to improve their quality of life as well as their longevity. Dr. Smith is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association and the American Veterinary Dental Society.1130 SW Maynard Road
